There are three different spices of black widows. The southern black widow mostly occurs in the southeast of United States, northern black widow mostly in northern United States and southern Canada and the western black widow mostly occurs in western United States, southwestern Canada and northern Mexico. Black widows are often they are described like something like black shiney spider with yellow design on body.

Black widows mostly eat insects and other small animals. When their pray get catch in the web the secure the pray in the web and then it bites the prey and injects its venom. After about ten minutes the prey will stop moving. The spider will then spit up some enzymes that will make the preys tissue to be a fluid. The black widow will then take the prey and go back to its secret spot and start to feed. The female black spider usually stays very close to its web.

Black Widows are black and sometimes brown and the female usually have reddish or orange hourglass shape on the underside. It is important to know that the black widows don't always have hourglass as the male spider have a black body with yellow dots or bands. The female can be 0.5 inches long and 1.5 inches with the legs. The male have a size that is between one fourth and half of the female with a smaller body and longer legs.  Are black widow spiders fatal? If the bite is not treated it could be fatal. It’s the female black widow that has dangerous bites. The males and juveniles are often considered to be harmless even if the male sometimes can be venomous. You might wonder how to get rid of black widows. The best thing is to change the area around you house so the spider doesn’t like to nest there. Exterminating black widows could be done by pesticides or you could use black widow natural spider control as having animals that eat black widows.

Many people like to know what insects prey on black widows. There is some natural enemy of black widow spiders. Some bugs like wasps sting and eat black widows. There is also an insect called Praying Mantis that eats black widows. There are also some birds that eat them.

You can find black widows in the composter as they like to live in dark places like woodpiles, garages and composters. So you should watch out.

If you get bitten by a black widow the symptoms of the bite would be pale spot with a red ring surrounding the bite. After about to hours you would get severe muscle pain and might cramps as well. Other symptoms could be nausea, vomiting, sweating, headache, difficult breathing and feeling weak.
